We offer the nation’s first bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in philanthropy. A philanthropic studies degree will allow you to make a difference in your community on issues that include education, health, social services, the environment, animals, the arts, and religion.
The Fund Raising School
The Fund Raising School offers 17 courses, two certificates, and customized training designed to bolster your fundraising efforts. Our courses enjoy a 95 percent satisfaction rate due to in-depth curriculum informed by leading-edge research from the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.

We identify emerging trends, challenge conventional wisdom, and provide valuable insights into philanthropy with our cutting-edge research. Our in-house research staff and peer-reviewed faculty studies increase understanding of philanthropy and the nonprofit sector.
What influences giving?
Explore how gender, faith, and diversity make a difference when it comes to giving. The Women’s Philanthropy Institute, Lake Institute on Faith & Giving, Muslim Philanthropy Initiative, and Mays Family Institute on Diverse Philanthropy focus on research on, education in, and understanding of important and timely issues in the field of philanthropy.
